More About Dr. Nabila

Dr. Nabila Babar trained in Internal Medicine at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio and began working in Addiction Medicine in 1999.

Dr. Babar’s outlook changed greatly from believing addiction was a matter of detoxing off of substances, to the understanding that addiction is, in fact, a disease. She has worked in addiction medicine in all different levels of treatment.

Along her journey, Dr. Babar has come to believe that not only is addiction a chronic, progressive disease, but that there is a strong connection between substance use and mental health disorders.
Many people experiment with substances, but the people who develop substance use disorders can have underlying mental health issues. Therefor it has become Dr. Babar’s focus to treat the client as a whole and address all aspects of addiction and mental health.

Her educational background consists of graduating from the Christ College of Nursing with her associates, Indiana University with her bachelors, and Walden University with her masters in psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.

With her years of education, she has developed the skills to provide compassionate and individualized care to those with mental health disorders, especially those with substance use disorders. Her goal is to help her clients gain their life back and enjoy their sobriety journey.
